Dear Friends,

It has been said that the hardest part of overcoming anything is the maintenance– and the fitness journey is no exception. Ask any experts and they would tell you that it’s filled with hard work, maybe some blood, definitely a lot of sweat, and if they want to admit, some tears too. The road to fitness and a healthy body is a lifestyle change that you have upkeep for the rest of your life. Now that doesn’t mean that you’ll be on a good one the entire time, but you have to push yourself through those moments when you feel lazy, or guilty because you had that extra scoop of ice cream. It requires endurance and perseverance.

Now after 16 years in the industry, I would hope that I’ve learned a thing or two. I have experimented with various methods of exercise to achieve different body goals and now I specialize in fat loss and body “toning” because this is what many people struggle with, including myself. I gained over 50lbs during the first half of my college career and with diabetes and heart complications in my family history; I didn’t like how my future looked, especially if I could change it. So I made a determination in my heart to change my habits to build a better and healthier lifestyle. I started going to the gym and saw tangible results; I was losing fat and gaining muscle. Internally I was gaining confidence and feeling rejuvenated and energized. To make things short, I was happier and felt like a brand new person. And that’s when my passion for fitness grew because I wanted to help others to feel that that way about themselves and achieve their goals.

Now looking in hindsight, I’m glad that I stuck to my guns (pun intended) because I changed my path now my son is off to a better start. I’m not saying this because I’ve reached perfection, in fact, I’m still learning. Just because I’m a personal trainer doesn’t mean I’m a one man show. I, myself, hire mentors and coaches to improve on my health and mindset. I’m constantly growing and updating my knowledge so I can better serve my clients. The fitness journey is not an easy one and that’s why we’re here to help.
